Organisatie geeft gênante blunder tijdens Daytona toe

Afgelopen weekend werd in de Verenigde Staten de wereldberoemde 24 uur van Daytona verreden. De fans werden getrakteerd op een spannende wedstrijd waarin de winst uiteindelijk naar Porsche ging. In de laatste minuten leek het er echter op dat de race te vroeg werd afgevlagd, de organisatie geeft deze blunder nu toe.

Porsche-coureur Felipe Nasr vocht in de laatste rondes van de race in Daytona een spannend duel uit met de Cadillac met Tom Blomqvist achter het stuur. Opvallend genoeg werd de witte al gezwaaid terwijl er nog iets minder dan drie minuten te gaan was. Nasr werd afgevlagd toen er eigenlijk nog anderhalve minuut op de klok stond. De IMSA geeft nu toe dat ze hier flink de fout in zijn gegaan. Aan de uitslag wordt echter niets veranderd, Nasr en zijn Porsche-teamgenoten behouden dus de zege.

    was nogal apart, ging echt even goed zitten voor de laatste ronde, en opeens werd die vlag gezwaaid.
    Maar goed, de Daytona 23uur, 58 minuten, 24 seconden en een beetje was wel weer een prachtig evenement...

    Ik denk dat we de fans van Blomqvist en Cadilac hier nog jaren over gaan horen, die gaan natuurlijk zeggen dat Nasr een fake Daytona winnaar is en dat Blomqvist zijn titel ontnomen is.

    Ook zullen ze wel het ontslag van de wedstrijdleider eisen
