FIA reageert cryptisch op Andretti-afwijzing

Gisteren maakte de Formule 1 bekend dat ze de plannen van Andretti Cadillac hebben afgewezen. De Amerikaanse renstal mag de sport niet gaan betreden in 2025 of 2026, maar de deur voor 2028 staat nog op een kier. De FIA heeft nu gereageerd op de beslissing van de Formule 1.

Autosportfederatie FIA keurde de plannen van Andretti vorig jaar wel goed. Onder leiding van FIA-president Mohammed Ben Sulayem opende de autosportfederatie vorig jaar een zogenaamde Expression of Interest. Geïnteresseerde partijen konden zich melden bij de FIA, maar uiteindelijk bleef alleen de combinatie van Andretti en Cadillac over. De Formule 1 liet gisteravond weten dat ze Andretti niet als een meerwaarde voor de sport zien.

De FIA heeft nu gereageerd op de beslissing van de Formule 1. In een kort statement laat de autosportfederatie weten dat ze kennis hebben genomen van de beslissing van de hoge heren van de sport. Volgens de FIA gaan ze nu in dialoog om te bepalen wat de volgende stappen zullen zijn. Dit kan zomaar betekenen dat het boek voor Andretti nog niet definitief is gesloten.

  Willem II wil meeliften op het succes van de eredivisie. De huidige teams vinden dat unfair en zullen daar een stokje voor steken. "De eredivisie is van ons" aldus een woordvoerder. "Bovendien, als we Willem II zouden toelaten zou 't toch maar onderaan bungelen. Dat heeft geen enkele toegevoegde waarde."

Dit kan zomaar betekenen dat het boek voor Andretti nog niet definitief is gesloten.

Nog voordat het boek gesloten is gaat Pitt Brad hier een film over maken. Lewis speelt ome Ben en heeft geen tijd meer voor Mercedes of Ferrari...

Blijkbaar willen de teams Andretti pas in 2026 laten debuteren omdat dan het nieuwe concorde verdrag gaat gelden. Daar willen ze de entree fee verhogen van 200 miljoen naar 800 miljoen. De 800 miljoen is echter maar een gerucht.
