Officieel: Suzuka verlengt contract tot en met 2029

De Formule 1 heeft zojuist bekend gemaakt dat de Japanse Grand Prix voorlopig nog wordt verreden op het iconische circuit van Suzuka. De organisatie heeft het contract verlengd en dat betekent dat het circuit nu minimaal tot en met 2029 op de kalender staat.

In een tijd waarin de Formule 1 vooral peperdure contracten tekent met steden voor spectaculaire stratencircuits, heeft men er toch voor gekozen om het contract met Suzuka te verlengen. Het Japanse circuit is enorm populair onder de fans en de coureurs en het is dan ook geen verrassing dat men het contract heeft verlengd. Recent gingen er nog geruchten rond over een race in Osaka, maar daar wilde men Suzuka niet van de kalender knikkeren. Er bestaat dus een kans dat er straks twee races in Japan op de kalender staan.

      Inderdaad, dat is ook de reden waarom zoveel mensen naar nar de Formule-E optocht kijken. Fijn dat Suzuka nog langer op de kalender staat.
