'Ferrari opent deuren voor Mercedes-personeel'

Het team van Ferrari maakte vorige week bekend dat Lewis Hamilton vanaf 2025 voor hen gaat rijden. De Britse zevenvoudig wereldkampioen verlaat het team van Mercedes na elf jaar. Het lijkt er op dat hij niet de enige is die de overstap zal gaan maken.

Hamiltons overstap naar Ferrari is voor veel mensen een enorme verrassing. Het werd namelijk goed geheim gehouden en het Mercedes-personeel werd pas op donderdagmiddag op de hoogte gebracht van het nieuws. Volgens het doorgaans betrouwbare medium Formu1a.Uno is dit niet vreemd. De overstap van Hamilton werd namelijk geregisseerd door Ferrari-president John Elkann. Volgens het medium wist slechts een klein groepje van de overstap, ook Charles Leclerc was hier onderdeel van.

Het lijkt er inmiddels stevig op dat Hamilton niet de enige is die de overstap gaat maken van Mercedes naar Ferrari. Eerder werd al duidelijk dat Loïc Serra naar Italië gaat verhuizen en er gaan ook hardnekkige geruchten rond over een transfer van Riccardo Musconi. Volgens Formu1a.Uno is de kans groot dat er nog meer namen van Brackley naar Maranello gaan verhuizen. Het medium meldt namelijk dat Ferrari Hamilton tevreden wil stellen. Iedereen die hem wil volgen van Mercedes naar Ferrari, zou welkom zijn. Het is echter nog niet duidelijk of bijvoorbeeld Hamiltons race-engineer Peter Bonnington hier voor open zou staan.

Als je naar de afgelopen jaren kijkt, krijg je toch het idee dat de beste mensen ondertussen alweer een tijdje vertrokken zijn. Want je kunt moeilijk blijven volhouden dat ze ook maar enig benul hadden in wat ze deden aangezien het meer overkwam van, ze doen maar wat in de hoop dat het goed zou komen. Het past dan weer wel prima in het non-beleid van Ferrari die buiten Max al de coureur met de meeste potentie in huis hadden en nu miljoenen gaat spenderen aan een coureur die alweer een tijdje over zijn top heen is. Daar zou dan ook goed personeel bij passen die met hun handen in hun haar staan ipv de echte toppers te krijgen. Of dat nu van RBR, AM of McLaren is...

  Helemaal mee eens. Ze hadden duidelijk geen idee wat of waar ze met die ground effect auto moesten beginnen. Allemaal natte vinger lapwerk dat nergens toe leidde.. En dat dat op korte termijn zal gaan veranderen heb ik geen vertrouwen in.
