FIA-leegloop gaat verder: juridische kopstukken vertrekken

Autosportfederatie FIA heeft weer afscheid moeten nemen van een tweetal belangrijke namen. De FIA beleeft zware tijden, want in de afgelopen maanden zijn er al veel kopstukken vertrokken. Ditmaal gaat het om twee juridische kopstukken die een belangrijke rol speelden bij de totstandkoming van het Concorde Agreement.

De FIA heeft in de afgelopen maanden al afscheid genomen van meerdere belangrijke namen uit de organisatie. Waar het eerder ging om sportieve hoofdrolspelers, gaat het nu om belangrijke namen op juridisch gebied. Autosport meldt namelijk dat de FIA afscheid heeft genomen van Pierre Ketterer en Edward Floydd. Beide mannen waren namens de FIA betrokken bij de totstandkoming van het Concorde Agreement.

Ketterer wordt gezien als één van de belangrijkste namen binnen de FIA op juridisch gebied. Waarom hij heeft besloten te vertrekken, is niet duidelijk. In gesprek met Autosport bevestigt hij dat hij aan de slag gaat bij het IOC. FIA-president Mohammed Ben Sulayem bedankt hem en de Formule 1-teams werden maandag op de hoogte gebracht van het vertrek van Ketterer tijdens de vergadering van de F1 Commission. Ketterer en Floydd zijn niet de enige die zijn vertrokken bij de FIA. In de afgelopen maanden vertrokken ook Steve Nielsen, Tim Goss en Deborah Mayer. Goss heeft al een nieuwe baan gevonden bij het team van Visa Cash App RB.

  Inderdaad. Jaren lang hebben we geroepen hoe inconsistent en dom de FIA is en hoe dom ze hebben kunnen zijn om met dit concorde agreement in te stemmen. Juist daarom is het nodig dat vele van deze mensen die daarvoor verantwoordelijk waren moeten vertrekken om ruimte te maken voor verandering. Ik denk dat oom Ben best een goed plan aan het uitvoeren is. Een plan dat hoognodig is om de F1 en de FIA in de toekomst nog serieus te kunnen nemen.

Naar verluidt gaat het om de dictatoriale leiding van de president MBS. Mensen die voor de FIA werken kunnen moeilijk om met de leiding zonder inspraak en her wispelturig gedrag.
