Vasseur heeft duidelijke opdracht voor Ferrari

Het team van Ferrari trok vandaag het doek van de nieuwe SF-24. Met deze nieuwe bolide wil het team de aanval gaan openen op het team van Red Bull Racing. Teambaas Frédéric Vasseur is vooralsnog tevreden, hij wil graag verdergaan op dezelfde voet waarmee Ferrari het vorige seizoen afsloot.

Ferrari was vorig jaar het enige team dat Red Bull Racing wist te verslaan in een Grand Prix. In de Singaporese Grand Prix ging de zege immers naar Carlos Sainz. Dit jaar willen ze de jacht gaan openen op Red Bull en dat willen ze het liefst op een daadkrachtige manier doen. Ferrari legde zichzelf vandaag weinig druk op door de wagen te onthullen door middel van een korte video. Later op de middag gingen Carlos Sainz en Charles Leclerc nog wel de baan op voor een shakedown.

Ferrari-teambaas Frédéric Vasseur is zeer tevreden met het werk dat tot nu toe is verricht. De Fransman is blij en hij spreekt zich hierover uit in een persbericht van Ferrari: "Het is altijd een mooi moment om een auto voor het eerst aan de wereld te tonen, zowel voor mijzelf als voor de coureurs. In gedachten zijn we al op de baan en strijden we daar met onze rivalen. Dit jaar moeten we verdergaan waar we eind vorig jaar zijn gebleven. Toen waren we namelijk consistent vooraan te vinden en wisten we onszelf steeds te verbeteren."

  Toch wel redelijk consistent vooraan omdat ze sinds België in elke race dat ze niet uitvielen bij de beste 6 zaten, geen enkel ander team had dat. In Austin werd Leclerc gediskwalificeerd vanwege slijtage aan de bodemplaat maar ook daar finishte hij (als 6e) in de top 6 (en Sainz was 3e).

  ja normaal gezien ben ik bij de teampresentatie nog wat afwachtend/terughoudend, maar nu ligt het er wel zo gruwelijk dik bovenop dat de titels naar Maranello gaan dat zelfs een doorgaans nuchter persoon als Paulie om is. Een schele aap ziet nog wel dat de buit al binnen is. Nog even wat races afwerken maar dat is slechts een formaliteit. en een futiliteit, ook dat...

  Precies. Ik verleg mijn blik alweer naar 2025. Hopelijk presenteren we dan een mooie nieuwe auto, zodat Leclerc en Hamilton onderling kunnen gaan uitmaken wie er WK wordt. Zin in!

  Toen de overheaddeur van het jaren '70 Shell stationnetje op Fiorano openging wist ik al hoe laat het was, Leclerc liet zelfs de honneurs aan Carlos, verspilde energie.

  De wagen is vrijwel altijd prettig voor het oog, en is volgens Cardille voor 95% anders dan de SF-23.
  Een hele waslijst aan wijzigingen, die voor lief aanneem.
  Ik sta erin zoals we er meestal instaan begin seizoen, the b*tch better be fast.
