Dit is de nieuwe McLaren MCL38

Het team van McLaren heeft hun nieuwe wagen aan de wereld getoond. Met de MCL38 zullen Oscar Piastri en Lando Norris er alles aan gaan doen om de stijgende lijn van vorig jaar door te zetten. De kleurstelling van de auto was geen geheim meer en nu hebben ze de echte auto getoond.

McLaren verraste de fans door al in januari beelden van de nieuwe livery te delen. Toch hebben ze vandaag iets meer laten zien dan ze al hadden gedaan. Piastri en Norris hebben namelijk het doek getrokken van de daadwerkelijke MCL38, McLaren had vooraf weinig informatie gedeeld over de launch. Dat was niet vreemd, aangezien het team de livery dus al met de buitenwereld had gedeeld.

      Nee, de nieuwe livery op een render van een auto van vorig jaar. Nu de livery op de nieuwe auto.

      Op de foto's staan 2 verschillende wagens qua bodywork.

      De koeling boven de sidepots zit op een andere plek bij de foto's op de donkere plek.

    Teambaas Andrea Stella liet namelijk direct weten dat de auto aan het begin van het seizoen nog niet op het gewenste niveau zal zijn, iets wat de afgelopen jaren telkens het geval was bij McLaren.

    Volgens de Italiaan zijn niet alle ontwikkelingen op tijd klaar om tijdens de eerste races van het seizoen al op de auto te zitten, waardoor Norris en Piastri even moeten wachten voor ze met de 'echte' MCL38 kunnen strijden met Red Bull Racing, Ferrari, Mercedes en Aston Martin.
