Promotor heeft 80.000 kaarten verkocht voor Grand Prix van India

De eerste Grand Prix van India zal in elk geval een bezettingsgraad van twee derde hebben. De capaciteit van de tribunes rondom Buddh International Circuit is 120.000 plekken, promotor Yaypee Sport maakt melding van 80.000 verkochte tickets.

Een woordvoerder van Yaypee Sport liet aan AFP weten: We hebben bijna 80.000 kaarten verkocht en dat is veelbelovend aangezien dit de eerste Formule 1-race ooit is in ons land. Natuurlijk zouden we gelukkiger zijn als negentig procent van de tickets over de toonbank was gegaan, want kaartverkoop is onze enige vorm van inkomsten. Maar er zijn nog een paar dagen te gaan en we houden onze vingers gekruist dat we nog wat kaarten kwijt kunnen raken.
