Organisatie F1 Rocks in India gearresteerd na afgelast concert

Het geplande concert van Metallica in India is op een deceptie uitgedraaid. Het optreden, onderdeel van het programma F1 Rocks, werd afgelast omdat de locatie niet aan de veiligheidseisen voldeed. Dit tot grote woede van het toegestroomde publiek.

De politie heeft nu vier leden van de organisatie gearresteerd. Een ooggetuige doet in Indiase versie van de Wall Street Journal zijn verhaal: Het concert van Metallica is uitgelopen op een nieuw voorbeeld van chaos en mismanagement in georganiseerde evenementen in India. De poorten zouden om drie uur open gaan, zo stond het op de tickets. Ik was er rond vier uur en toen om zes uur de deuren nog steeds gesloten waren drongen duizenden fans samen en groeide de opstand. Ze begonnen leuzen te roepen, hekken te schoppen en op auto's te klimmen.
