Kevin Ceccon staat versteld na kennismaking met Formule 1

Kevin Ceccon kroop deze week voor het eerst achter het stuur van een Formule 1-bolide en de young drivers-test van 2011 zal hem nog lang heugen. De 18-jarige Italiaan, kampioen in de Auto GP dit jaar, testte anderhalve dag voor Scuderia Toro Rosso en genoot met volle teugen.

Ceccon deelde aan Autosport mede: Het was fenomenaal, ongelooflijk. Deze auto's zijn met geen enkele andere bolide te vergelijken. Het gevoel is ongeëvenaard. Het ging ook lekker, ik haalde al snel een aardig niveau. Om in een perfect ritme te komen heb je meer tijd nodig, maar ik denk dat ik vrij makkelijk en snel een goed tempo haalde.

Maar we hebben niet echt naar tijden gekeken, we hebben ons geconcentreerd op ons programma. De engineers waren te spreken over mijn bijdrage. Ik heb veel geleerd en al die opgedane kennis neem ik mee naar volgend jaar. Als het me lukt om een GP2-zitje bemachtigen voor 2012 weet ik zeker dat deze ervaring van pas komt.
