Mercedes GP betrekt AMG in officiële teamnaam voor 2012

Het team van Mercedes GP gaat vanaf volgend jaar officieel door het leven als Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula 1 Team. AMG verzorgt al meer dan veertig jaar de autosporttak van Mercedes-Benz en vanaf volgend jaar staan die drie letters dus ook in de officiële teamnaam.

Mercedes-motorsportbaas Norbert Haug: Onze nieuwe teamnaam fuseert de trotse tradities van AMG en de Zilverpijlen in de koningsklasse van de autosport. Deze drie letters staan synoniem voor hoogwaardige technologie, sportieve prestaties en spanning. Deze stap geeft de verbondenheid van Mercedes-Benz met de Formule 1 weer.
