FIA benoemt Gerhard Berger tot president van eenzitter-commissie

Oud Formule 1-coureur Gerhard Berger gaat weer een actieve rol in de autosport spelen. De Oostenrijker gaat bij de internationale autosportbond FIA aan de slag als voorzitter van de eenzitter-commissie. Berger volgt Barry Bland op.

Bland is opgestapt vanwege persoonlijke redenen, zo stelt de FIA. Berger was in het verleden werkzaam als motorsportbaas bij BMW. Hij was ook mede-eigenaar bij Scuderia Toro Rosso. De 52-jarige Oostenrijker won in zijn Formule 1-loopbaan tien Grands Prix.
