Dakar update: Trucker Nikolaev gediskwalificeerd na onsportief gedrag

Gerard de Rooy en Hans Stacey hebben één concurrent minder voor de eindzege in Le Dakar 2012. Eduard Nikolaevis namelijk per direct uit de rally gehaald en zal dus niet meer verder mogen rijden. De Kamaz-coureur heeft zich volgens de organisatie schuldig gemaakt aan onsportief gedrag.

Vlakbij de aankomst van de vierde etappe woensdag heeft er een incident plaatsgevonden tussen Nikolaev en auto-rijder Di Palma. In eerste instantie werd de schuld van de aanrijding tussen beiden gelegd bij Di Palma, maar na het opnieuw analyseren van de beelden is besloten dat Nikolaev de schuldige is.

De Rus zou een illegale reparatie hebben uitgevoerd en onvoldoende hulp hebben geboden na de aanrijding. Hierdoor is Nikolaev per direct gediskwalificeerd.
