Fysiotherapeut van Toro Rosso overleden op 46-jarige leeftijd

Scuderia Toro Rosso is in rouw door de dood van fysiotherapeut Raniero Gianotti. De Italiaan overleed dit weekend aan de gevolgen van een hartaanval tijdens het fietsen, zo bericht persbureau EFE. Gianotti werd 46 jaar.

Gianotti werkte in de Formule 1 sinds begin jaren negentig van de vorige eeuw voor teams als Minardi, Ferrari, Stewart en Toyota. Hij stond in die periode coureurs als Rubens Barrichello, Felipe Massa en Sebastian Vettel bij. Jaime Alguersuari verwoordt zijn verdriet als volgt: Ik heb een broer verloren.
