Bahrein International Circuit neemt ontslagen personeel in genade aan

Het Bahrein International Circuit maakt een knieval voor de werknemers die vorig jaar tijdens de opstand tegen het politieke regime in het koninkrijk hun baan bij de gastheer van de Grand Prix van Bahrein kwijt raakten. Het circuit heeft alle ontslagen personeelsleden benaderd om weer in dienst te komen bij Bahrein International Circuit.

De actie volgt op een recente oproep van mensenrechtenorganisaties aan Formule 1-teams om de Grand Prix van Bahrein dit jaar te boycotten. Circuitbaas sjeik Salman bin Isa Al-Khalifa stelt in een verklaring: Het in ere herstellen van de vertrokken collega's maakt deel uit van een belangrijk initiatief richting nationale verzoening en eenheid in ons koninkrijk. Ik verwelkom het teruggekeerde personeel en we focussen ons nu op de toekomst en de taken die op ons wachten. Bahrein International Circuit, met name door de Grand Prix, is heel belangrijk voor ons land. Het verbindt mensen, gezien de brede steun in alle lagen van de bevolking.
