Le Mans: Lotus besteedt LMP2-programma uit aan Colin Kolles

Colin Kolles en zijn renstal Kodewa runnen dit jaar twee Lola B12/80-auto's op gezag van Lotus, met Lotus V8-motoren, in het World Endurance Championship. Dat heeft de autofabrikant bevestigd. Kolles was tot eind vorig jaar als teambaas actief bij Formule 1-team HRT. Daniel Simon was vorig jaar verantwoordelijk voor de livery van HRT en is nu ook ingehuurd om een zwart-gouden kleurstelling voor de Lola-Lotus van Kodewa te ontwerpen.

Lotus-motorsportbaas Claudio Berro: Dit is een opwindende stap voor ons. We hebben nooit een geheim gemaakt van onze intenties voor een LMP2-programma, maar wel op de juiste manier en we zijn heel blij met de gevonden partners. We kijken uit naar de rentree in deze hoedanigheid naar Le Mans, na het succes met de Evora in de GT-klasse van vorig jaar. De motorontwikkeling verloopt goed, maar we hebben veel werk voor de boeg in de komende weken om zeker te zijn dat de auto gereed is voor een intensief testprogramma.
