Qantas ook komend seizoen hoofdsponsor van Australische GP

Qantas zal ook dit jaar de hoofdsponsor zijn van de Grand Prix in Australië, zo is vanochtend bekend gemaakt. De Australische luchtvaartmaatschappij was de afgelopen twee seizoenen ook al naamgever en belangrijkste geldschieter van het evenement.

"Qantas wordt al meer dan 25 jaar lang geassocieerd met de Grand Prix van Australië", vertelde de organisator van de race. "We zijn daarom blij dat we deze samenwerking voort kunnen zetten. Elk jaar kijken er ruim 520 miljoen mensen naar de Formule 1, dus het is van onschatbare waarde als je je naam hieraan weet te verbinden."

Qantas was al van 1997 tot en met 2001 de hoofdsponsor van de Grand Prix. In 2010 nam het bedrijf het stokje weer over van ING, die in 2007, 2008 en 2009 de belangrijkste geldschieter was.
