Hamilton enthousiast over lange runs in McLaren MP4-27

McLaren-rijder Lewis Hamilton sloot de eerste dag in China niet op de koppositie af, maar de Brit kon desalniettemin terug kijken op een geslaagde dag. De MP4-27 oogde zeer goed in balans in zijn handen, in tegenstelling tot teamgenoot Jenson Button, die klaagde over onderstuur.

Hamilton is tevreden. "De lange runs lijken zeer competitief. Ik heb me iets meer op de wedstrijd dan op de kwalificatie gefocust, en de consistentie en de manier waarop we met de banden omspringen zijn verbeterd. De auto ziet er heel goed uit. We kunnen de balans nog wat verbeteren, maar hopelijk horen we dit weekend bij de kopgroep. Ik heb wat goede sessies achter de rug, dus ik kijk of ik de balans nog wat kan verbeteren en probeer op de baan nog wat tijd te vinden. De wagen oogt snel, maar Red Bull Racing en Mercedes hebben een stap gezet. We blijven pushen en ik hoop me zo hoog mogelijk te kwalificeren, aangezien ik nog een grid penalty in moet lossen."
