New York bestrijdt verhalen over uitstel voor eerste Grand Prix

De organisatie van de Formule 1-race in New Jersey/New York heeft geen flauw idee waarom Bernie Ecclestone de suggestie heeft gewekt dat de eerste Grand Prix niet in 2013, maar in 2014 plaats zou kunnen vinden. New York gaat ervan uit gewoon volgend jaar op de kalender te staan.

Een woordvoerder van de organisatie verklaarde tegenover NJBiz: "Het is een ongefundeerd verhaal. De race staat gewoon op het programma voor juni 2013." Ook landeigenaar Roseland Property Company weet niets van eventueel uitstel. Managing partner Carl Goldberg: "Als voornaamste landeigenaar voor de racelocatie vervolgen wij onze planning en voorbereiding voor een Grand Prix in juni 2013."
