Le Mans: Ishiura haakt af bij Toyota door rugklachten

Toyota Racing moet op zoek naar een nieuwe coureur voor de nummer 8 TS030 Hybrid voor de 24 uur van Le Mans. Hiroaki Ishiura kan niet deelnemen door rugklachten. De Japanner ontdekte tijdens de tests dat de G-krachten van de LMP1-auto te hevig zijn om te kunnen racen voor Toyota.

Ishoura: "Dit was een extreem moeilijk besluit, want racen op Le Mans is mijn droom, maar mijn fysieke gesteldheid heeft de prioriteit. Ik voel me niet in de conditie om een LMP1-auto op Le Mans te besturen en ik ga me focussen op mijn herstel zodat ik volgend jaar wel voor Toyota kan uitkomen. Voor nu concentreer ik me op de Super GT en de 24 uur van de Nürburgring, en steun ik Toyota van een afstandje."
