Williams bijna weer compleet, nog een teamlid in het ziekenhuis

Bijna het voltallige team van Williams is weer thuis in Groot-Brittannië. Twee teamleden zijn gisteren uit het ziekenhuis in Spanje ontslagen na een behandeling voor rookinhalatie. Nog één teamlid ligt in het ziekenhuis met brandwonden. De verwachting is dat hij binnen 48 uur de trip naar Engeland kan maken om daar verder behandeld te worden.

Teambaas Frank Williams stelt in een verklaring: Het deed me deugd om het merendeel van het team in de fabriek te verwelkomen. Een van onze mensen verblijft nog in Spanje voor medische hulp, maar we kijken uit naar zijn aanstaande terugkeer. Iedereen bij Williams is zeer opgelucht dat deze gebeurtenis relatief snel onder controle was en dat de schade meevalt. Hoewel dit incident onverwacht en ongewenst was, het toonde wel de oprechte kameraadschap, de samenhorigheid en de spirit van samenwerking aan die leeft in de Formule 1-paddock. De verbluffende reactie van andere teams en personeel was onmiddellijk, onvoorwaardelijk en overweldigend.
