Afgelopen week werden er zeven vrije trainingen verreden op de Indianapolis Motor Speedway zonder een noemenswaardige crash. Gisteren was het tijdens Pole Day wél raak. Ervaren coureur Oriol Servia en Ed Carpenter maakten kennis met de 'safety walls' op Indy, terwijl ook rookie Bryan Clauson een klapper maakte.

Clauson opende de dans, toen hij aan het begin van zijn laatste kwalificatieronde zijn bolide verloor.

Oriol Servia verloor zijn bolide midden in de vierde bocht.

Ed Carpenter maakte toch wel de hardste klapper mee.
