Oud-coureur Roy Salvadori op 90-jarige leeftijd overleden

Oud Formule 1-coureur en Le Mans-winnaar van 1959 Roy Salvadori is niet meer. De Brit stond in de jaren vijftig en zestig van de vorige eeuw 47 keer aan de start van een Grand Prix. Salvadori overleed gisteren, hij werd 90 jaar.

Salvadori verzamelde in totaal negentien punten in de Formule 1, met twee podiumplekken in 1958 als uitschieters. Hij eindigde toen ook als vierde in het kampioenschap. Na zijn loopbaan was hij nog twee jaar teammanager bij Cooper.
