Testupdate: Bottas weinig verrassend bovenaan op eerste dag

Williams-coureur Valtteri Bottas neemt na de eerste ochtend van de young drivers-test op Silverstone de koppositie in. Slechts drie teams komen vandaag en morgen in actie in Engeland. Naast Williams zijn dat achterhoedeteams Marussia en HRT.

Bottas rijdt niet alleen voor het beste team, de Fin heeft ook de meeste ervaring. Hij neemt regelmatig een eerste vrije training bij Grands Prix voor zijn rekening. Dat geldt niet voor Ma Qing Hua van HRT en GP2-rijder Max Chilton namens Marussia. De verschillen zijn dan ook vrij groot. Chilton zorgde nog voor een rode vlag door stil te vallen met een falende sensor in de motor. Hij keert na de lunchpauze niet terug, Rio Haryanto stapt in bij Marussia.

De tussenstand van de eerste dag van de young drivers-test op Silverstone:
