HRT beschouwt De la Rosa als essentieel onderdeel van het team

Het team van HRT zwoegt nog altijd in de achterhoede, maar de Spaanse renstal is van ver gekomen. Zonder te testen wist het zich in Australië niet te kwalificeren voor de race. Tegenwoordig kan HRT zich in elk geval meten met Marussia.

Voor de toekomst van het team is de aanwezigheid van coureur Pedro de la Rosa belangrijk. Teambaas Luis Perez-Sala legt in Marca uit: "De richting die Pedro ons geeft is cruciaal voor ons. Hij is snel, hij is ervaren en hij begaat geen fouten. Hij vormt een essentieel, een fundamenteel onderdeel van ons team."

De la Rosa voelt zich prima thuis bij HRT en lijkt een zekerheidje voor 2013. "Ik ben zeer op mijn gemak bij dit team. Niets geeft meer voldoening dan de verbeteringen aan de auto en het team te ondervinden", aldus de Spanjaard in AS.
