Formule 1-sterren stellen overalls beschikbaar voor goed doel

De overalls van de zes wereldkampioenen op de Formule 1-grid dit jaar worden op 3 december geveild en de opbrengsten gaan naar Wings for Life. Daarnaast zullen ook handschoenen en foto's met handtekeningen van Lewis Hamilton, Michael Schumacher, Kimi Raikkonen, Fernando Alonso, Sebastian Vettel en Jenson Button onder de hamer gaan.

Wings for Life doet onderzoek naar aandoeningen aan het ruggenmerg en voerde al enkele keren speciale acties met Red Bull Racing uit. Vettel: "Het is een van de meest competitieve seizoenen in de geschiedenis van de Formule 1, maar wij coureurs zijn maar wat graag bereid om bij te dragen aan dit goede doel dat veel betekent voor alle betrokkenen in de autosport. Ik ben trots dat ik de overall en handschoenen die ik droeg tijdens de Australische Grand Prix heb kunnen doneren voor de veiling."

Nikki Wilson, hoofd van Wings for Life UK: "We zijn Red Bull Racing, McLaren, Ferrari, Mercedes en Lotus zeer dankbaar voor de support voor ons evenement. Dit is een droomkans voor verzamelaars om overalls gedragen door de kampioenen in huis te halen. We hebben vertrouwen dat deze unieke stukken veel geld voor ons goede doel gaan opleveren."
