A1GP: Italië wil samenwerken met andere teams

Het bestuur van het Italiaanse team heeft toegegeven dat ze een samenwerking proberen aan te gaan met Oostenrijk, India en China om data uit te wisselen. Op deze manier wil men de kans op succes vergroten aangezien andere teams ook al samenwerken, waar hetzelfde bedrijf werkt aan meerdere teams van de A1 Grand Prix.

Zo heeft het raceteam van DAMS al de A1 Grand Prix teams van Frankrijk, Zwitserland, Mexico en Rusland onder haar vleugels, is Carlin Motorsport verantwoordelijk is voor de teams van Portugal, Libanon en Japan en helpt het team van Super Nova de landen Duitsland en Pakistan. Het team van Italië wordt niet gesteund door een raceteam en probeert nu een samenwerking aan te gaan om alsnog samen data uit te wisselen om daar beter van te worden.

We zijn extreem laat begonnen. We kregen de bolide en de handleiding om hem in elkaar te zetten één week voordat we de eerste race op Brands Hatch hadden, toen de andere teams al een aantal maanden hadden getest. Het was duidelijk dat we de rest moesten inhalen, aldus teambaas Piercarlo Ghinzani. Er zijn teams met meer dan één afdeling en dan hebben ze drie wagens en drie monteurs die verschillende afstellingen kunnen proberen. Dat is het probleem en ik probeer een samenwerking met het Oostenrijkse, het Indische en misschien het Chinese team te creëren om een gezamenlijke database te maken.
