FIA zet licht op groen voor Grand Prix op Circuit of the Americas

De Grand Prix van de Verenigde Staten op 18 november op het nieuwe circuit in Austin gaat door. Charlie Whiting, wedstrijddirecteur bij de internationale autosportbond FIA, heeft de baan geïnspecteerd en verleent toestemming voor Formule 1-races aldaar.

Het Circuit of the Americas kan hem zeer bekoren. Whiting: "Het ontwerp is fantastisch, het vakmanschap is uitmuntend en ik heb geen enkele twijfel. Dit wordt een unieke Grand Prix, met veel verschillende bochten die ruimte voor inhaalmogelijkheden bieden."
