Nurburgring afhankelijk van staatssteun voor Formule 1-race

De Grand Prix van Duitsland vindt in 2013 waarschijnlijk opnieuw plaats op de Hockenheimring. Dat circuit deelde jarenlang een plek op de kalender met de Nürburgring, maar financiële wanorde nekt die baan in de Eifel. Een oplossing is nog niet gevonden terwijl de deadline in rap tempo nadert.

Bernie Ecclestone legt in de Financial Times Deutschland de situatie uit: "We kijken naar Hockenheim voor een jaarlijkse race. De Nürburgring heeft geen contract, maar we zijn in gesprek. We beginnen vanaf nul. Maar als de regio niet bijspringt, wordt het een lastig verhaal. Elke minuut die verstrijkt maakt het moeilijker, de laatste deadline is vlakbij."
