Kimi Raikkonen vaart wel bij gemak van eenjarige contracten

Kimi Raikkonen verlengde zijn verbintenis bij Lotus deze week tot het einde van 2013. Opnieuw een eenjarige overeenkomst voor de Fin die dit seizoen na twee jaar afwezigheid terugkeerde in de Formule 1, met verve. De wereldkampioen van 2007 voelt zich lekker bij eenjarige contracten.

Raikkonen: "Ik ben gelukkig met per jaar bekijken of we met elkaar verder willen. Het maakt het leven makkelijker voor mij. Ik zie geen reden om een langdurige verbintenis aan te gaan. Het is nu minder gedoe en minder problemen als je besluit om ergens anders heen te gaan of om iets anders te doen."

"Maar ik heb het zeker naar mijn zin bij Lotus, ik geniet van de mensen hier. Het is een goede groep. Ze dragen racen mee in hun hart en het is minder politiek dan bij veel andere teams. Waarschijnlijk omdat het geen fabrieksteam is, dat maakt een verschil. Ik heb het goed en mag niet klagen."
