Rio de Janeiro mikt met nieuw circuit op Grand Prix-organisatie

De Braziliaanse Grand Prix verandert na 2015 mogelijk van locatie. De burgemeester van Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes, waarschuwde zijn collega van Sao Paulo alvast. "Wees voorbereid Sao Paulo, want ik ga de Formule 1 van jullie stelen."

Rio de Janeiro gaat een nieuw circuit bouwen in het staatsdeel Deodromo. Het oude circuit van Jacarepagua wordt gesloopt om ruimte te maken voor trainingsfaciliteiten met het oog op de Olympische Spelen van 2016. De nieuwe baan in Deodoro moet in 2015 klaar zijn.

    Wat is de F1 kalender toch in korte tijd gigantisch op de schop gegaan, ongelooflijk zeg. Speelde laatst weer eens F1 2001, F1 2005 en F1 2006 (dat voelde als een \'\'oude vertrouwde\'\' kalender\'\') en miste nieuwe races niet. Wel vaag om in plaats daarvan weer te moeten wennen aan de destijds nog A1 ring, en aan Imola, Indianapolis, Magny Cours en dergelijke.
    Maar een enkele baan vind ik toch wel een goede toevoeging (GP van Turkije bijvoorbeeld en de GP van Zuid korea en Abu Dhabi hebben ook wel wat...

      Singapore voor mij ook wel, met name de dubbele chicane. Weinig inhaal pogingen maar spectaculair om te zien net als monaco. Deze mogen ze houden als het aan mij zou liggen..

      Interlagos slopen? Zijn ze helemaal gek geworden..het lijkt wel oh juist alle historische gp\'s het doelwit zijn en we er alleen maar saaie banen voor terug krijgen..al lijkt COTA mij een uitzondering op die regel, maar alsjeblieft weg met die uitloop stroken en breng de grindbakken terug..
