Williams werkt nog met man en macht aan updates voor FW34

Het team van Williams pusht zo hard mogelijk om nog een gooi te doen naar de zevende plek in het kampioenschap voor constructeurs. De Britse renstal is opgetogen na een mooi resultaat in Abu Dhabi; veertien punten met zowel Pastor Maldonado als Bruno Senna in de punten. De achterstand op Force India bedraagt wel nog 22 punten.

Williams-hoofdengineer Mark Gillan weigert zich gewonnen te geven. "Na een mooie prestatie in Abu Dhabi kijkt het hele team echt uit naar de laatste twee races van 2012. We pushen met man en macht voor meer updates om toch nog die zevende plek voor ons op te eisen. Aangezien Austin nieuw op de kalender is beschikken we niet over informatie van eerdere bezoekjes. Het belang van de simulator en het simulatieprogramma is daardoor voor deze race nog groter. Pirelli voorziet ons van de compounds hard en medium. We gaan eerst voorzichtig de evolutie van het circuit en de bandenslijtage bestuderen voordat we voorspellingen doen over mogelijke strategieën."
