Buemi door als reserve- en testcoureur bij Red Bull Racing

Sebastien Buemi dingt niet meer mee naar de resterende racestoeltjes voor 2013. De Zwitser heeft zijn contract als test- en reserverijder bij Red Bull Racing verlengd. In die hoedanigheid zal hij racecoureurs Sebastian Vettel en Mark Webber ter zijde staan.

Buemi: "Ik ken iedereen binnen Red Bull Racing en het is goed om nog een jaar bij het team te blijven. Natuurlijk is het mijn doel om te racen, maar aan de andere kant leer ik ook genoeg in deze rol. Ik help met de ontwikkeling van de bolide en lever feedback gedurende het seizoen, zowel in de fabriek als bij de races."

Teambaas Christian Horner: "Het doet ons deugd dat Sebastien verder gaat als reserve- en testcoureur bij Red Bull Racing. Hij voegde zich in 2004 bij het Red Bull Junior Team, werkte in 2008 en 2012 voor ons team, en beschikt over aardig wat ervaring. Hij zal belangrijk simulatiewerk voor ons verrichten dit jaar."
