Van der Garde: "Focus op verbeteren stabiliteit achterkant CT03"

Giedo van der Garde werkte gisteren zijn eerste testdag van deze week af in Barcelona. De Nederlander van Caterham reed 93 ronden en produceerde een snellere tijd dan teamgenoot Charles Pic had staan. Het was niettemin een zware bevalling. Van der Garde moest het na de lunch doen zonder KERS en de stabiliteit van de achterkant van de CT03 is nog niet naar wens.

"We hebben een productieve eerste dag achter de rug, met 93 rondjes hebben we alles kunnen doen wat we ons hadden voorgenomen. Door een technisch probleem kon ik 's middags KERS niet meer gebruiken, maar ondanks dat waren we toch in staat verschillende afstellingen te proberen. Dat werk willen we vandaag voortzetten en geeft ons meer opties voor de volgende test."

"Waar we ons echt op dienen te focussen, is de stabiliteit van de achterkant van de CT03 verbeteren. De voorkant is absoluut scherper dan bij zijn voorganger, maar de achterkant behoeft nog wat aandacht. Hopelijk blijft de regen vandaag een beetje weg zodat we daar nog mee aan de slag kunnen", aldus Van der Garde.
