'Gillette dingt mee naar rol van hoofdsponsor bij McLaren'

Gillette is opgedoken als een nieuwe gegadigde om Vodafone na dit seizoen af te lossen als hoofdsponsor van McLaren. Dat bericht het doorgaans goed ingevoerde Auto Motor und Sport. Gillette steunde eerder Bruno Senna bij Lotus en Williams.

De producent van scheermesjes heeft wel veel concurrentie. Andere firma's die de ronde doen als mogelijke nieuwe titelsponsor van McLaren zijn Telmex, Emirates en Rolex. Vodafone is sinds 2007 als geldschieter verbonden aan de equipe uit Woking, maar trekt zich na 2013 terug.
