Bianchi denkt in Spanje de absolute topvorm te benaderen

Marussia-coureur Jules Bianchi liet in de eerste twee Grands Prix van 2013 een sterke indruk achter, maar de debutant gelooft dat er nog meer in het vat zit. De Fransman was in Australië en Maleisië met afstand de snelste in de achterhoede. De staart van de middenmoot moest bij vlagen zelfs angstig over de schouders kijken.

Bianchi hikt tegen zijn eigen topvorm aan, laat hij aan Autosport weten. "Het is niet dat ik nog ergens een volle seconde vandaan kan halen, dat is onrealistisch. In Melbourne zat ik al op 90 tot 95 procent, ik had veel vertrouwen in de auto. In Spanje zullen we de 100 procent bereiken, daar komt alles samen en hebben we ook wat nieuwe onderdelen."

"Ik ben goed bezig, maar ik moet blijven werken om het nog beter te doen. Misschien kan ik van mijn kant nog een tiende vinden, dat zou mooi zijn. Het is een kwestie van meer vertrouwen in de auto krijgen, aangezien we niet veel getest hebben samen."

"Ik ben optimistisch. Elke keer dat we iets nieuws introduceren, pakt het goed uit. Nu moeten we kijken of we bij de volgende upgrade wellicht het gat naar de gevestigde orde wat meer kunnen dichten. Het is in elk geval een veelbelovende start."
