VT1: Rosberg zoals gebruikelijk snel in Sjanghai

Het team van Mercedes heeft zijn visitekaartje afgegeven in China, niemand kon in de eerste vrije training op het circuit van Sjanghai aan de Duitse renstal tippen. Nico Rosberg, winnaar van vorig jaar, vervolgde zijn sterke vorm op deze baan met een 1:36.717. Teamgenoot Lewis Hamilton gaf dik vier tienden toe en legde beslag op P2.

Het gat naar de rest is overweldigend. Red Bull Racing volgt op ongeveer een seconde als beste van de rest, met Mark Webber voor Sebastian Vettel. Fernando Alonso van Ferrari completeert de top vijf. Graining bij de voorbanden speelde veel coureurs parten op de eerste sessie op een stoffig circuit. Onder meer Massa, Raikkonen en Hulkenberg hadden daar last van.

Kimi Raikkonen eindigde net buiten de top tien. De Lotus-coureur spinde in een van zijn runs in bocht 9. Hamilton vergaloppeerde zich een keer in bocht 14 en reed rechtdoor in die hairpin. Esteban Gutierrez en Pastor Maldonado konden hun bolides in de lange doordraaier bocht 1 niet in het gareel houden en gleden de uitloopstrook op. Sergio Perez belandde op merkwaardige wijze nog in de grindbak en de bandenstapels bij het inrijden van de pits aan het einde van de sessie.

Caterham-coureur Giedo van der Garde nestelde zich op P21. Zijn 1:42.083 was nipt langzamer dan de rivalen van Marussia. Jules Bianchi was de snelste in de achterhoede met een 1:41.966. Van der Garde had geen kind aan gelegenheids-teamgenoot Ma Qing Hua. De vervanger van Charles Pic in deze training was anderhalve seconde langzamer dan de Nederlander.

Zo wil ik het zien Go Mercedes, allen lewis misschien is hij nog beetje ziek maar dat komt goed morgen hoop ik.

Het zijn nog wel vrije trainingen he.
Ferrari en RBR zijn meestal in VT3 quali pace aan het testen en dus t snelst.
