Ecclestone husselt paddock door elkaar voor meer interactie

Bernie Ecclestone heeft zijn fiat gegeven om vanaf de Grand Prix van Spanje de motorhomes in de paddock in een willekeurige volgorde te zetten, het liefst zo ver mogelijk verwijderd van de pitbox van het betreffende team. Het experiment in Maleisië is geslaagd.

Althans, dat oordeelt velt Ecclestone. Op Sepang plaatste hij de hospitality units van de teams niet volgens de volgorde van de garages, die op basis van de uitslag van het kampioenschap van vorig jaar tot stand komt. De gedachte achter de overhoop gehaalde indeling is dat coureurs en teamleden op deze manier gedwongen zijn om langer door de paddock lopen en op die manier meer in contact komen met elkaar, met fans en met de media.
