Maldonado strijdbaar terwijl Williams modderfiguur slaat

Pastor Maldonado wil niet van opgeven weten, hoewel de updates van zijn team Williams in Spanje totaal geen effect sorteerden. De Venezolaan overleefde de schifting in Q1 niet en kwam in de race geen moment in de buurt van de punten. De winnaar van een jaar geleden verliet Barcelona nu met lege handen.

Maldonado is ten einde raad, maar weigert het seizoen al als verloren te beschouwen. Aan persbureau EFE deelde hij mede: "Niets werkte in Spanje. Maar we moeten de rust bewaren en door blijven gaan. We kunnen niet opgeven. Het is een kwestie van verder zoeken naar een oplossing. Op dit moment hebben we geen flauw benul hoe we onze problemen kunnen verhelpen, wat ongelofelijk lijkt, maar dit is de Formule 1."
