Bianchi: "Middenmoot met iets meer downforce binnen bereik"

Het team van Marussia zou dit seizoen door kunnen stoten richting de staart van de middenmoot. Dat denkt coureur Jules Bianchi, die in de eerste vijf Grands Prix al wat aardige dingen heeft laten zien. Voor een volgende stap is wel wat meer neerwaartse druk voor de MR02 nodig.

Bianchi vertelde aan El Confidencial: "Het team heeft een heel behoorlijke wagen afgeleverd. De auto is lang zo slecht niet als sommigen denken. Als we een beetje meer downforce zouden hebben, dan zouden we al halverwege de grid staan, dus we moeten doorgaan op deze weg."

Eerste prioriteit is echter de tiende plek bij de constructeurs veilig stellen, dan incasseert Marussia wel televisiegelden. Bianchi: "Ik ben gewend aan druk, maar het klopt dat de tiende positie belangrijk is voor Marussia, net als voor Caterham. Het wordt moeilijk."

Over een toekomst bij Ferrari verkondigt de Fransman: "Ik heb geen idee. Ik weet het niet en in deze wereld is van alles mogelijk. Ik probeer gewoon mijn best te doen en als ze me vragen zeg ik natuurlijk geen nee. Maar vooralsnog is dat nog ver weg."
