Mallya blij dat Force India criticasters de mond snoert

Force India-baas Vijay Mallya is nog steeds aan het nagenieten van de Grand Prix van Monaco. Adrian Sutil bekroonde een aantal mooie inhaalacties met de vijfde klassering en ook Paul di Resta eindigde in de punten. Een uitstekend resultaat voor de Indiase renstal, die boven verwachting presteert dit jaar. Tot groot plezier van Mallya.

"De emoties van Monaco liggen vers in ons geheugen terwijl de aandacht uitgaat naar Canada. Beide coureurs presteerden uitmuntend in de straten van Monte Carlo en het geeft veel voldoening om te zien dat we vijfde staan bij de constructeurs na een derde deel van het seizoen. De race van Monaco toonde de klasse van onze rijders en snoerde onze criticasters de mond. We zullen ons de inhaalacties van Adrian op twee wereldkampioenen nog lang heugen, net als het vastberaden optreden van Paul van P17 naar een negende plek."

"We kloppen al geruime tijd op de deur voor onze eerste podiumplek sinds 2009 en het is tijd voor die belangrijke laatste stap. Montreal zou een prachtige plek zijn om dat te doen. Inhalen kan op dit circuit en onze auto kan zich qua racesnelheid meten met de besten. Alles is mogelijk. Ik ben trots op iedereen in ons team vanwege onze goede resultaten. We staan op 44 punten, ondanks een aantal pechgevallen. Met een beetje geluk was onze voorsprong op McLaren groter geweest. De focus ligt op de toekomst. De concurrenten zullen een tandje bijschakelen, maar we hebben bewezen dat we meekunnen en dat is onze intentie voor de komende races", besluit Mallya.

Zijn toch wel de verassing van het seizoen, auto ziet er weinig revolutionair uit maar doet het uitstekend op alle circuits. Podium moet toch wel mogelijk zijn dit jaar.

  Mee eens maar het gaat moeilijk worden, er komen weinig updates vergeleken met de andere midfield teams. In Monaco kwam FI dan eindelijk met een high-downforce achtervleugel.

Weinig updates en horen wat betreft budget achter Williams, Sauber en Torro Rosso. Kunnen makkelijk bij blijven vanwege de weinig veranderingen dit jaar en de Mercedes motor is sterk. Voor volgend jaar staan er behoorlijk wat wijzigingen ben dan benieuwd hoe ze hier uit gaan komen.
