Merendeel teams tegen uitbreiding van young drivers-test

De young drivers-test wordt waarschijnlijk niet verlengd met een dag. De internationale autosportbond FIA was bereid een extra testdag toe te staan omdat Pirelli nieuwe banden wil testen, maar de teams omarmden dat idee allerminst, bericht Autosport.

Alleen Ferrari is een voorstander van uitbreiding van de young drivers-test, om het nieuwe rubber uit te proberen en om de auto verder te ontwikkelen. De Scuderia is jarenlang bezig met een lobby voor meer testen tijdens het seizoen, maar kreeg ook dit keer geen bijval.

De teams zijn het wel eens geworden over de inzet van de vaste racecoureurs. De reguliere rijders nemen maximaal één dag in totaal voor hun rekening, zodat in elk geval twee dagen overblijven voor jonge talenten.
