Pirelli-voorzitter veroordeeld voor bedrijfsspionage

Pirelli-president Marco Tronchetti Provera is veroordeeld tot twintig maanden cel voorwaardelijk en een boete van 900.000 euro. De rechtbank in Milaan bevond hem schuldig aan industriële spionage in een zaak uit zijn tijd bij Telecom Italia.

Telecom Italia zou op onrechtmatige wijze informatie bemachtigd hebben om Brasil Telecom over te nemen. De Financial Times bericht dat Provera alle beschuldigingen ontkent. "Ik ga in beroep in de overtuiging dat de waarheid boven tafel komt."
