Lotus legt laatste hand aan overeenkomst met investeerder

Het team van Lotus hoopt eind deze week het akkoord met investeringsmaatschappij Infinity Racing af te ronden. De samenwerking is al een tijdje geleden aangekondigd, maar de onderhandelingen duren nog altijd voort. In Hongarije zijn goede stappen gezet en Lotus denkt nog een paar dagen nodig te hebben om de deal te formaliseren.

De bijbehorende kapitaalinjectie is zeer welkom om aan de top te blijven en Kimi Raikkonen te behouden. Teambaas Eric Boullier meldde aan Autosport: "Eind deze week zou alles wel duidelijk moeten zijn. Dit akkoord geeft ons aanleiding voor optimisme voor de toekomst. Het schept de mogelijkheid om middelen aan te boren voor de volgende stap wat betreft stabiliteit, omvang en kwaliteit."

"Dit is ook een van de dingen waar Kimi veel waarde aan hecht. We zijn duidelijk niet het grootste team in de top vier en onze strategie is geweest om stapsgewijs vooruitgang te boeken. We hebben eerst alles in het verbeteren van het team gestoken, waardoor we meer sponsors en investeerders konden aantrekken. Daar zijn we mee bezig, het versterkt elkaar. Het neemt meer tijd in beslag dan verwacht, maar de overeenkomst met Infinity Racing is omvangrijk. Zodra we dat afronden weten we dat we een stap kunnen zetten met ons platform."

dus ook niets met Red Bull..

....In dat geval klopt je nickname dus ook niet ;-)
Want een Infinity G35 bestaat dus niet, wel een Infiniti G35... :-)
