Mogelijke opvolger Jean Todt wordt beschuldigd van bezwarende claims

David Ward, kandidaat voor het presidentschap van de FIA, wordt beschuldigd van het in een negatief daglicht stellen van Jean Todt, de huidige president. Hij zou gezegd hebben dat Jean Todt leden van de FIA clubs onder druk zet om hun steun te verlenen aan hem. Deze claim is in het verkeerde keelgat geschoten van enkele leden.

Volgens de leden die een steunbrief hebben geschreven voor een nieuwe termijn voor Jean Todt, hebben ze dit gedaan omdat ze het belang van continuïteit inzagen. Ze voelen zich aangevallen door het in vraag stellen van hun gedrag en persoonlijkheid.

Ze suggereren dat de klachten van Ward over het gebruik van steunbrieven in strijd zijn met zijn standpunt in 2009. Toen was hij voor dat gebruik.
