Marussia stelt toekomst veilig met commerciële afspraken

Marussia heeft als laatste van de elf teams commerciële afspraken gemaakt met Bernie Ecclestone. De onderhandelingen zijn vlak voor de zomerpauze geopend en nu afgerond. Dat betekent dat alle renstallen zich nu via de Concorde Agreement tot en met 2020 aan de Formule 1 hebben verbonden.

Marussia-directeur Graeme Lowdon toonde zich tegenover Autosport gelukkig met dit akkoord. "Ik kan bevestigen dat we overeenstemming hebben bereikt en een tweezijdige overeenkomst hebben gesloten. We mogen verder niets prijs geven over de inhoud en details, maar we kunnen wel zeggen dat we heel erg blij zijn. Nu kunnen we net als de overige teams vooruit."

Autosport stelt dat een van de elementen in het nieuwe contract een gegarandeerde geldsom is, ook als Marussia bijvoorbeeld niet in de top tien bij de constructeurs eindigt. Deze clausule staat bekend als 'Kolom 3' en is ook onderdeel in de afspraken met andere teams.
