Raikkonen maakt zich niet druk om tweede plek bij coureurs

Lotus-coureur Kimi Raikkonen is niet tot de tanden toe gewapend om nog als tweede in het coureurskampioenschap te eindigen. Het maakt de Fin weinig uit op welke plaats hij uiteindelijk belandt nu de titel al is vergeven. Hij gaat voor dagsucces.

Raikkonen: "Het maakt niets uit of je het seizoen als tweede, vijfde of derde afsluit. Je krijgt er toch niks voor. We gaan gewoon per race bekijken wat mogelijk is, doen elke keer ons best voor het maximaal haalbare resultaat en dan zien we aan het eind wel wat het heeft opgeleverd."

"Ik benader Abu Dhabi net als elke andere wedstrijd. Ik bewaar goede herinneringen aan mijn winst van vorig jaar, maar tijdens mijn eerste bezoek in 2009 was het maar een saaie bedoening. Ik heb het liefst weer een mooi resultaat, maar je weet pas op het circuit hoe sterk je bent."
