Hamilton: "Die spin kwam door een defect aan mijn wagen"

Lewis Hamilton vertelde na afloop van de kwalificatie dat zijn spin werd veroorzaakt door een probleem aan zijn wagen. De Brit kwam in een spin terecht tijdens zijn snelste ronde in Q3, waardoor hij genoegen moest nemen met de vierde plaats op de grid achter teamgenoot Rosberg.

Vooraf aan de kwalificatie verwachtte Hamilton mee te doen om de pole position. De Mercedes-coureur vertelde na afloop: "Er ging iets mis aan de rechterkant van de wagen. Ik ging door de chicane en de wagen brak uit. Ik kwam in een spin terecht, probeerde weg te rijden maar er is iets kapot gegaan want dat lukte niet."

"Het is een erg moeilijk circuit om in te halen, waardoor het erg belangrijk is vooraan te staan. Hopelijk kan ik een goede start maken en alsnog voor de podiumplaatsen vechten. Ik ben blij niet te ver naar onderen te zijn gezakt."
