Races in New York en Mexico geschrapt van kalender voor 2014

De kalender voor 2014 zal naar alle waarschijnlijkheid toch korter gemaakt worden. Op zijn minst twee races zullen aangepast worden. Volgens het Duitse Speed Week zullen de Grands Prix in New Jersey en Mexico geschrapt worden van de kalender.

Hierdoor slinkt de kalender van 22 naar 20 races voor 2014. De reden dat Mexico geschrapt wordt ligt volgens Bernie Ecclestone bij het feit dat een nieuw pitcomplex, voor de race in november volgend jaar, vrijwel onmogelijk haalbaar is.

Over New Jersey zegt Ecclestone: "Die race kan niet plaatsvinden. Simpelweg vanwege het feit dat hun financiën niet op orde zijn. Ik heb ze hier meerdere keren voor gewaarschuwd. Ik heb ze op de kalender laten zetten omdat ze keer op keer beloofden het op orde te maken."

Met deze laatste opmerking over de race in New York lijkt de race in het deel van New Jersey een laatste kans eventueel te krijgen om de komende weken alsnog de boel op orde te maken.

F1Today.net kan melden dat vermoedelijk ook een wijziging bij Maleisië plaats zal vinden. Aanvankelijk was de bedoeling dat deze race op 30 maart verreden zou worden. Diverse teams hebben bezwaar gemaakt en voorgesteld om het een week eerder te laten plaatsvinden. Hierdoor zal de nieuwe datum 23 maart worden, een week na de eerste Grand Prix in Australië.

Nu al klaar met de race, je voelt gewoon dat dit doodsaai wordt. En als ik dan al zo\'n negatieve insteek heb erger ik me ook helemaal kapot aan Ronald \"kegggsprobleem\" van Dam en Robert \"eigenlijk\" Doornbos.

Nee, heb veel moeite om hier nog iets positiefs uit te halen. Ik tel vast af naar Australië 2014.
