Dakar: Peugeot in verband gebracht met comeback

Peugeot zou overwegen om zich in 2015 weer in te schrijven voor de Dakar-rally. Het Franse merk won het prestigieuze evenement van 1987 tot en met 1990 vier keer op een rij. De naam van Sebastien Loeb circuleert als een van de mogelijke coureurs en Peugeot Sport-teambaas Bruno Famin besprak een potentieel programma reeds met Stephane Peterhansel.

Famin: "Pikes Peak was een eenmalig avontuur. Het was een groot succes, iedereen bij Peugeot was tevreden en de fans waren blij, maar nu verleggen we de aandacht naar de toekomst. We hebben vele ideeën, niet alleen met de 208 T16 Pikes Peak. We moeten kijken wat het beste is wat betreft communicatie, rendement en wat echt interessant is. Daar denken we over na terwijl we een plan voor 2014 voorbereiden onder een budget wat nog niet vast staat. Pas als we die informatie hebben, hakken we knopen door. Misschien iets totaal anders dan Pikes Peak en met een compleet andere auto."
